The tenth Emissions Reduction Fund auction was held on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 March 2020.
At the tenth auction:
- the Clean Energy Regulator committed to purchase 1.7 million tonnes of abatement on behalf of the Commonwealth
- purchasing resulted in an average price per tonne of abatement of $16.14, which is the weighted average price for each Australian carbon credit unit purchased at this auction:
- average price per tonne of abatement of $16.11 for optional delivery, and
- average price per tonne of abatement of $16.32 for fixed delivery.
- 12 contracts were awarded for 11 projects, with one project securing both an optional and fixed delivery contract, and
- the value of all contracts awarded was $27.6 million.
