Change of liable entity or multiple liable entity

To submit an amendment to change liable entities or allow multiple liable entity:

  1. Log into the Client Portal.
  2. Access the 'Change of Liable Entity / Multiple Liable Entities' application form. These forms must be submitted on or before 31 December of the exemption year (e.g. on or before 31 December for the 2020 exemption year)?
    • Navigate to My Online Forms > Change of Liable Entity / Multiple Liable Entities. Click Save. This saves your application as a Draft that you can return to several times until you click Submit. Both actions result in a transaction record under My Online Forms > Recent forms table.
    • Your application will be refused if you fail to provide the required information and supporting documentation.
    • Ensure the executive officer, primary contact and secondary contact for the application have their own Client Portal account.
  3. Submit your application.
    • Click 'Exit' and 'Previous' does not result in a saved or submitted application.
    • If a person other than yourself submits the application, you will not able to view it after the other person submits it.
    • The individual who creates the form can either:
      • Lodge the form. In this case the individual becomes the form submitter and is the individual who receives notifications about the application and can see the application in the future.
      • Lodge the form on behalf of the nominated signatory. In this scenario, another person will become the form submitter and is the individual who receives notifications about the application and can see the application in the future.
    • Tip: ensure the primary contact lodges the form and selects Print sign and upload the application. This ensures that the primary contact receives notifications about to the application and can see the application in the future.

Other amendments

To submit another type of amendment:

  1. Login to the Client Portal.
  2. Access the 'Notification to the Clean Energy Regulator' form.
    • Notify the Clean Energy Regulator of a request to amend at any time - but some can only be accepted if provided by the legislated date.
    • Navigate to My Online Forms > Notify the regulator > Notification to the Clean Energy Regulator. In the notification, select the appropriate option from the fields that provide dropdown menus and provide enough information to inform the Clean Energy Regulator what you would like to amend in respect of the exemption certificate. If you provide insufficient information, the Clean Energy Regulator will request additional information which will take longer to process your notice.
    • Click 'Save'. This saves your application as a draft that you can return to several times until you click 'Submit'. Both actions result in a transaction record under My Online Forms > Recent forms table.
  3. Submit your notice.
    • Clicking 'Exit' and 'View and print notification' does not result in a saved or submitted notification.
    • If a person other than yourself submits the application or notice, you will not able to view it after the other person submits it.
